Cindy-Joy Rosado

Graduate Student in Mental Health Counseling

File

Cindy-Joy is a graduate student at Florida State University under the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. She is currently in her first year of the program and is working towards her Master of Science degree, as well as a Specialist degree in Education. She is bilingual - English and Spanish - and is open to offering counseling services in either language. Prior to her current course of study, she was working as a Certified Behavioral Health Case Manager (CBHCM) at Meridian Behavioral Healthcare, Inc. in Gainesville, FL where she worked with a wide array of mental and substance use disorders and linked clients to wraparound services (i.e. medical, housing, employment, etc.).
Cindy-Joy’s goal for therapy is to walk alongside you as you navigate through life and its challenges. She wants to help you make sense of your thoughts and feelings in order to eliminate the barriers that are standing in the way of a life that is whole and fulfilled. As a counselor, she will provide a safe space where clients can express themselves and feel heard and validated. Her aim is to incorporate cultural sensitivity and consider all the values that play a role in one’s experiences. In a session, you will be met with someone who genuinely cares about you and your journey. Her primary areas of interest include childhood and adulthood trauma as well as acculturation and marginalization issues amongst minority groups, however she is open to any presenting issue.
