Sexual Dysfunctions
Whether this is an individual or couple issue,
Sex is a normal process of human nature. Therefore like everything else it may not work as you expected. In fact, sexual dysfunction interfere with your ability to initiate, experience, and enjoy sexual activity. This of course, can happen anytime to men and women of all ages and all cultures. However sexual dysfunction tends to happen more as people get older. Sexual dysfunctions can be caused by a variety of things such as:
- Sexual trauma
- Psychological issues
- Diabetes or other chronic illness
- Heart disease or other medical conditions
- Alcohol and drug use
- Hormonal changes
- Certain medications
- Fatigue
- Lack of Intimacy
- Fear of pregnancy or diseases
- Relationship problems
- Stress (The most common cause of Sexual Dysfunction).
It is normal for sexual dysfunctions to happen randomly. Thus sexual dysfunction should ONLY be considered a disorder unless it happens consistently, it significantly impacts your sexual life, and it has been considered a disorder by trained medical doctor in sexual functions or a sex therapist. There are four types of sexual dysfunction disorders:
- Desire disorder is when you have little or no interest in sexual relations on an ongoing basis.
- Arousal disorder means you’re emotionally in the mood, but your body isn’t into it.
- Orgasm disorder means you’re emotionally in the mood, but you have an inability to climax that leaves you frustrated.
- Pain disorder involves having pain during intercourse.
