Lydia Kessinger
Clinical Mental Health Counseling Student

Hello, and welcome! I’m Lydia, a master’s level graduate student intern in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Florida State University, where I am pursuing both my master’s and specialist’s degrees. Before beginning my work at FSU, I spent several years supporting individuals and families in a variety of settings. These experiences shaped a deep appreciation for the courage it takes to seek support and the value of having a space where you can feel truly heard.
At the heart of my work is a desire to listen and walk alongside you as you navigate life’s transitions, challenges, and growth. I believe therapy should feel like a steady and supportive space, one where you can slow down to reflect and reconnect with yourself.
I hold a special place in my work for parents, especially those raising young children. As a parent myself, I understand both the deep joy and the real challenges that come with caring for “littles”, and I offer a compassionate and nonjudgmental space to explore that experience. My approach is rooted in person-centered care with integrations of Cognitive Behavioral and Existential Therapies. I aim to create a warm and welcoming environment where you feel safe and supported moving towards your goals.
