Adriana Gonzalez-Mejia

Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern

File

Before becoming a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern,I spent several years working in community mental health, family support services, workforce development, and higher education. These roles allowed me to support children, adults, caregivers, and professionals as they navigated emotional, relational, and practical challenges.

I earned my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Indiana Wesleyan University. Originally from Venezuela, I offer counseling in both English and Spanish and bring a multicultural perspective to my work with clients from diverse backgrounds.

My clinical training includes school based counseling and substance use treatment, where I supported individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, grief, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. These experiences strengthened my belief that people are resilient and capable of meaningful change when they have the right support.

I know life can feel overwhelming—balancing responsibilities, managing stress, carrying past experiences, or simply trying to keep up. Therapy offers a space to slow down, breathe, and be supported without judgment.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and practical. I aim to create a safe environment where you feel understood and empowered. Together, we’ll explore what’s getting in the way, build effective coping strategies, and work toward the life you want to create.

I integrate trauma informed care with CBT, DBT, ACT, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Therapy, and person centered approaches. For clients who desire it, I also offer faith integrated counseling.

I specialize in working with adults experiencing anxiety, stress, burnout, life transitions, workplace challenges, self esteem concerns, depression, substance use recovery, and the lasting effects of trauma.

Taking the first step toward support is courageous. If you’re ready to begin your healing journey, I would be honored to walk alongside you.
